Two 21-year-old French students have been conditionally discharged for three years after damaging four cars in Swieqi while drunk in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

During the proceedings, Mathieu Moulin admitted damaging an Alfa, an Opel and a Peugeot, while Ludovic Bras admitted damaging a Renault in Triq is-Sidra, Swieqi, at around 1.30am. The pair live in Triq il-Qasam in the same town and were walking home when they damaged the cars.

The young men admitted causing some €1,000 worth of damage to the cars before handing over €1,087 in cash to cover the costs.

Magistrate Neville Camilleri took into consider-ation the nature of the crime, the fact that they had paid for the damage, and that their police records were clean.
