As a regular user of the Gozo ferry, I notice that quite frequently when the last car of an earlier lane boards, a late arrival whizzes up the empty lane to board, before the first car in the next lane has a chance to do so.

Apart from the obvious possibility of an accident, this is very irritating to customers who have been patiently queuing in the searing heat.

I shudder to think what tourists make of this primitive behaviour.

Surely one of the Gozo ferry employees can easily block off a lane when the last car has ‘legally’ boarded to prevent this from happening, instead of staring into space uninterested in their surroundings.

I trust this plea will not be ignored but, knowing the Maltese attitude to matters of common courtesy, I am not holding my breath!
