In just under four weeks’ time, the popular Delicata Classic Wine Festival will get under way at the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta, for the 13th year running.

Delicata is currently running a competition on its Facebook page (www.facebook.com/DelicataWinery) through which one can win a great VIP wine festival prize.

One can win a fantastic night out on August 9, consisting of two complimentary passes to Delicata’s exclusive VIP area at the Upper Barrakka Gardens, where guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks and canapés.

This will be followed by an Italian buffet dinner in the fully seated Grand Harbour grill restaurant in the Saluting Battery, overlooking the Three Cities.

After dinner, the winners will be free to roam the festival and enjoy the entertainment provided by The Crowns. They can also try as many of the Delicata wines available at the various stalls as they want with their complimentary souvenir glasses.

Finally, the winners will get an overnight stay at the five-star Phoenicia Hotel, including breakfast.

The Delicata Classic Wine Festival, which is timed to celebrate the start of the Maltese grape harvest, is on for four nights starting on August 7 until August 10 from 7pm until midnight. The Upper Barrakka lift will be in operation until 1am each night at the normal price and parking will be available opposite the entrance to the lift on the waterfront, at a flat rate of €3 per car.

Three weeks later, the Delicata Wine Festival will be held again at the Council Gardens in Nadur, from August 29 until August 31, again from 7pm until midnight.
