Value is the theme of the 2014 summer campaign launched in Maypole’s 11 outlets last month. Supported by some two dozen brands, the offers are based around lower pricing, free giveaways and special combo packs.

“These are not sales gimmicks but honest, high-value offers, with the full support of our suppliers, which means Maypole clients will be getting more for their money this summer,” Sebastian Debono, director of Maypole, said.

Clients will notice that sales staff in the outlets all have the new 2014 Maypole uniform. The company is also opening a new shop soon in Naxxar.

Free Acunetix security scan

The recent Heartbleed vulnerability has highlighted the urgent need for more network level security scanning. In view of this, Acunetix will be offering 10,000 free network security scans with Acunetix Online Vulnerability Scanner (OVS) in a bid to make it easier for businesses to take control of their network security.

OVS provides detailed reports, allowing the security administrator to fix any vulnerabilities before a hacker finds them. To make use of this offer, companies must sign up at www.acunetix.com/free-network-security-scan/ using a valid company e-mail address. Once verified, they can then make use of the scanning features, which will be available for free for 14 days.

“Building on Acunetix’s success as the market leader in web vulnerability detection, we wanted to ensure no stone was left unturned, by adding another layer of security: the detection of network vulnerabilities,” announced Nicholas Sciberras, product manager at Acunetix.

Re/Max estate agency at Bay Street

American real estate franchise Re/Max, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Malta, has opened a new office in the heart of the Bay Street complex.

This is the first real estate agency in Bay Street. It will offer the full range of real estate services, apart from accommodating three sales consultants. It is expected that some 20 sales consultants and associates will be working on a shift basis to cover the complex’s opening hours. A back office on Level 6 will host a conference room and a general work area.

“Apart from promoting our services – sales and letting of both residential and commercial property – to the locals, we are convinced that Bay Street’s steady flow of walk-in business – 2.4 million last year – will justify our significant investment to set up the operation and make an immediate impact,” co-franchise owners David Mifsud and Miriam Vella said.
