Verona have bought the full playing registration of midfielder Romulo from Fiorentina for an undisclosed fee.

The Brazil-born Italy international joined Verona on loan from Fiorentina last summer, with the two clubs each owning 50 per cent of his registration.

The 27-year-old scored six goals in 32 Serie A appearances to help the Gialloblu finish 10th in season 2013-14.

Romulo, who moved to Fioren-tina from Cruzeiro three years ago, had been strongly linked with a move to Milan this summer.

Blatter wants to see Suarez back in action

Sepp Blatter hopes to see Luis Suarez back in action soon.

Suarez was sent home early in shame after biting Giorgio Chiellini in Uruguay’s World Cup group stage win over Italy.

FIFA’s disciplinary committee banned the Barcelona forward from “all football-related activity” for four months.

There was outcry in Uruguay at the ban, but Blatter said the record punishment was completely out of his hands.

“As a footballer I feel with him that such a punishment... it hurts, it hurts,” Blatter said.

“But as FIFA president I have to accept the decisions that are taken by our independent committees.

“I do hope he will be back. He is now in one of the greatest clubs in the world.”

Midfielder M’Vila seals Inter loan deal

French midfielder Yann M’Vila has joined Inter on a season-long loan deal from Rubin Kazan.

M’Vila arrived in Milan last week and underwent a medical but waited until yesterday morning to finally train with the Nerazzurri outfit.

Inter posted a photograph of M’Vila on the club’s website, www.inter.it, with a statement that read: “M’Vila joins his new team-mates on the pitch for the first time in Inter’s Pinzolo training session.”

As part of the agreement, Inter have an option to make the switch permanent next summer.

M’Vila joined Rubin Kazan from Rennes in January 2013 in a re-ported £9.6m transfer deal.

Fiorentina make Brillante signing

Fiorentina have announced the signing of Australia defensive midfielder Joshua Brillante from A-League side Newcastle Jets.

Brillante underwent a medical on Monday before completing his permanent transfer to the Viola.

“I’m very happy to be in Florence,” Brillante said on the club’s website yesterday.

“I look forward to seeing the team soon. I can’t wait to get started.”

Brillante, who also holds an Italian passport due to his roots, made 46 A-League appearances in his two seasons with the Jets.

Vidal serene amid United rumours

Arturo Vidal will not panic if nothing comes of a proposed move to Manchester United, pointing out he is already at a “great team” in Juventus.

The Chile international has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford however, recent speculation suggests United’s interest in the 27-year-old has cooled due to Juve’s reported £35 million valuation of the midfielder.

He said: “I’m not thinking of where I’m going to go, I want to take advantage of my holidays with the people I love. Right now I’m thinking of other things. When I arrive in Italy, I’ll see.

“I’m already at a great team, Juventus, so I will be just as calm if the Manchester United option falls through.”

Markovic joins Pool

Serbia winger Lazar Markovic has become Liverpool’s fourth close-season signing after joining on a “long-term deal”, the Premier league club said yesterday.

No fee was announced but media reports said the 20-year-old had been signed from Benfica for £20 million.

The highly-rated left-sided attacker joins England internationals and former Southampton pair Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana as well as Germany Under-21 midfielder Emre Can at Anfield.

Belgium striker Divock Origi is also close to joining Liverpool in a £10 million deal from Lille, according to media reports, as manager Brendan Rodgers bolsters his squad after the departure of Uruguay forward Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

Joe Royle back at Goodison Park

Former Everton manager Joe Royle has rejoined the staff at Goodison Park as part of Roberto Martinez’s backroom team.

The 65-year-old has been brought in to help young players breaking through from the academy and U-21 set-up while he will also assist in scouting and the recruitment of players.

Martinez said: “Everyone knows the incredible influence Joe Royle has had at our football club, both as a player and a manager.

“Joe’s experience and football know-how will be hugely beneficial for the youngsters at a key stage of their development.”
