Air Malta said today that Tripoli airport is expected to remain closed for a number of days because of security concerns and its service to the Libyan capital will therefore remain suspended.

The airline said it would resume services when it is safe and secure to do so.

Customers booked onflights to Tripoli are being offered a full refund of their tickets or the possibility to change their date of departure for free.

Air Malta’s flights to Benghazi are also suspended following the closure of the airport in May.
