• The feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Help will be celebrated at Kerċem parish today. Bishop Mario Grech will lead a Pontifical Mass at 9am.

At 11.30am, marches will be played in the main streets by Sant’Antnin Band of Birkirkara.

At 7pm evening prayers will be held in the parish church, led by parish priest Brian Mejlak, with the participation of the St Gregory Choir.

At 7.45pm there will be a procession with the participation of St Gregory Band of Kerċem, while Mnarja Band will give a concert in front of the church.

At 10.15pm the statue of Our Lady of Perpetual Help will be returned to the church, accompanied by the singing of the antiphon Beata me Dicent.

• The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Ta’ Ħamet church will be celebrated on Wednesday. Church rector Carmelo Hili will say Mass at 6am. There will be solemn adoration from 5.30 to 7.30pm, followed by a concelebrated Mass. A pilgrimage outside the church with the statue of Our Lady and a sacramental blessing will follow.

• Xagħratale is a 20-minute outdoor performance highlighting aspects of the history of Xagħra. It includes the prehistoric era of the Ġgantija phase, the Calypso myth, the Knights’ era, the French interregnum, the 1814 plague and the British period. The performace will be staged at Xagħra’s main square every Wednesday at 9pm. Viewing is free.

• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the recital of the rosary and Eucharistic benediction.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at Good Shepherd church, Victoria, on Saturday at 8.30pm, followed by Mass at midnight.
