Tiki Village at Excelsior

The Grand Hotel Excelsior has set up the Tiki Village by the water’s edge close to the marina, offering its guests a unique eating experience, with light snacks available at lunchtime and platters in the evening.

Each of the 10 ‘villas’ seats six. The bamboo and palm villas were made by self-employed carpenters in the Philippines using indigenous products.

“By opting to purchase the villas from self-employed carpenters, as opposed to buying mass-produced products, the Grand Hotel Excelsior is promoting fair trade while assisting workers in the Philippines to make a living and improve their quality of life. It is a shining example of sustainable tourism put into practice,” the hotel said.
