A three-year-old girl born in the UK was slightly injured when she fell from a walkway at the Splash and Fun Park this afternoon.

The accident happened at around 1pm in the children’s area, the police said adding that they were not informed of the incident immediately.

The girl was given first aid and then taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Patrick Vella, from the Splash and Fun Park, said the area the girl fell from was not completely railed.

As soon as the management realised it could be dangerous, it took immediate action to set up railings where there were none. They also blocked off the area to children.

Mr Vella said the police, who were called to the scene once the ambulance had left the site, arrived as the new railing was being set up.
