A man who was granted bail on Friday after having been accused of stealing two clocks from two courtrooms was back in court today, when he was accused of stealing items from a car in Qormi last Sunday.

Charles Sciberras, 39 of Sta Lucia is pleading not guilty in the two cases.

The car's owner, Lawrence Micallef, had reported to the police that he saw Mr Sciberras trying to open one of his car's doors before smashing a window. He then pulled out the radio.

Mr Micallef confronted Mr Sciberras, who promised to pay him for the damage as long as he did not call the police. But the police were called and arrested Mr Sciberras on site.

Mr Sciberras was today remanded in custody. The court was told that the accused is a drug addict.
