Obituary

GALEA. On June 29, in Dorcester,UK, MARGARET, (k/a Maggie), widow of Dr Joseph M. Galea, passed away suddenly after a short illness. She is deeply mourned by her five stepchildren and their families in Canada, her brother and sister and their families in UK, her in-laws in Malta including Edwin and Mary Galea, Charles and Delma Galea, Iris Zammit and Jimmy Borg Cardona, Mary Darmanin Demajo and all their families. Also mourned by her many friends at the Union Club and Tigne Beach Club. Her funeral will take place on Thursday, July 10, at St George’s church, Fordington, U.K. No flowers by request, but donations payable to British Red Cross may be sent to Grassby Funeral Service, 8 Princes Street, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1TW, UK. FARRUGIA. On July 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, LUCY, née Panzavecchia, of Valletta, aged 94, widow of the late Dominic, mother of the late Marlene and Winnie Muscat Scerri, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her son Joe and his wife Josette, née Valenzia, Austin, widower of her late daughter Winnie, her granddaughters Marcon and her husband Venny Hili, Domika and her husband Wallace Fino, Pia and her husband Patrick Vassallo, Michaela and her husband Malcolm Vella and Erika and her husband Howard Zammit, her great grandchildren Gianni, Martina, Nicola, Jack, Katryna, Tom, Saul, Isaac and Julian, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends, especially all her friends at Roseville. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at St Mary parish church, Attard at 9am on Wednesday, July 9, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but dona-tions to Hospice Malta are welcome. Special thanks to all the carers, nurses and doctors of ITU and SW1 who helped care for her. The family regret they are unable to re-ceive visitors. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MICALLEF. On June 5, HENRY of Sliema, aged 81, passed away suddenly, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Henrietta, his children Michel and his wife Lorraine, Elvira and her husband Simon Petroni and Joanna and her husband Kenneth Azzopardi, his most cherished grandchildren, Jean-Michel and his girlfriend Erika, Kim and her boyfriend Aeden, Tamara and her boyfriend Benji, Michael, Tara, Gabriel and his wife Diane, Luke and his girlfriend Rachel, his great-grandchildren Emma and Bruce, his sister Rosa Micallef Judge, his brothers Aldo, Edwin and Harriet, Louis and Gloria, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and his many friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on July 9 at 8am for the Carmelite parish church, Balluta, St Julians, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery (front entrance). The family would like to thank the emergency and ambulance services at Mater Dei Hospital. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
