Rotary Club Malta, in conjunction with Sliema local council, is holding the annual Kon-Tiki Challenge in aid of Dar il-Kaptan on Saturday from noon in Balluta Bay, Sliema.

There will be two classes of crafts: one with no fewer than five men and another with six men or more. There must be no engine-powered crafts.

Crafts can be branded and paddles must be made and used by hand. No parts from existing boats must be used and all material must be clean and free from any chemicals.

All participants must be able to swim. Non-swimmers will not be permitted to race.
