The third in a series of five baroque concerts, entitled Rameau and his Contemporaries, was performed last Sunday by the Musica Poetica London at Mgr G. Farrugia hall, St George’s Basilica as part of the 17th edition of the Victoria International Arts Festival. The ensemble performed works by Jean-Philippe Rameau, Jean-Baptiste-Féry Rebel and Marin Marais on the baroque violin, viola da gamba and harpsichord. The trio, originally formed as a quartet at the Royal Academy of Music in 2010, has a reputation for energetic and communicative interpretations of repertoires ranging from Monteverdi to Mozart, performed on period instruments.
