A woman from Paola found in possession of drugs nine years ago has been placed on probation for two years.

The police had found a small sachet of heroin, 17 empty sachets and0.26 grams of cannabis at Jennifer Azzopardi’s apartment. They also found drug paraphernalia and a paper with four names and their telephone numbers leading them to believe she was a trafficker.

She was charged with aggravated possession of drugs and simple possession of cannabis.

Magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras ruled that there was no evidence that the names on the paper might be drug clients of the accused.

Only a small amount of drugs were found matching the amount found in cases of personal use.

Lawyers Franco Debono and Marion Camilleri appeared for the accused.
