The tranquillity, peace and serenity that used to be enjoyed by families residing in Triq il-Knisja, Dingli, was shattered a few weeks ago. This is thanks to a decision taken by the Dingli local council, which, acting on a suggestion by someone who is not even a resident in this road, installed a ‘road hump’ just in front of our residence.

This ‘road hump’ is causing a great inconvenience to us residents mainly due to the continuous noise caused by vehicles.

All the protestations and objections that were made by the residents have fallen on deaf ears.

I expect the council to protect the interests of residents and not of the few. The council installed this ‘road hump’ even when it knew that the residents were against it.

When faced with protests, the only reply it gave was that it was taking our protests to Transport Malta.

In the light of this, I hope that whoever is concerned with this ‘road hump’ makes public the study that led to its installation. After all, slightly over a year ago we were promised by the new government that it was going to listen to everyone. Instead, some are prejudiced because their voice is not as loud as that of others.
