The last lesson for this season in the part-time course Drawing and Painting – Advanced, organised by Mcast at Tarġa Gap in Mosta, was unfortunately held on June 25.

I have to thank the Ministry of Education and Employment, the Mcast administrators and, especially, our teacher, Bertrand Bonnici, for the excellent service provided. There was absolutely nothing to fault.

The organisation was perfect, as usual. I have attended a number of part-time courses organised by Mcast and other educational institutions but there is no comparison with the quality of service provided.

Students who attended this course to a satisfactory standard are now asking: What’s next? How can we further our studies?

There are sections in this subject which were not included in this course, for example water colours. I therefore suggest to the competent authorities, who are ever encouraging the citizens to ‘keep studying’, to consider including in the forthcoming part-time courses one entitled ‘Further Studies in Drawing and Painting’ for students who attained a qualifying mark in the advanced course or an equivalent art course.

Such a course would serve to encourage students to further their studies in art.
