A watch tower for Emergency Response and Rescue Corps lifeguards has been set up at the Blue Lagoon by the Gozo Ministry.

The structure will give the lifeguards a vantage point when watching over the lagoon, an area which is visited by thousands of bathers.

Last summer, ERRC assisted 706 people at the Blue Lagoon, Ramla Bay and Marsalforn.

The lifeguards use a hydro ambulance to transport injured swimmers to the Mġarr or Ċirkewwa terminals.
