Last Sunday, the Corpus Christi procession of children who received their First Holy Communion was held in all Gozitan villages. In Nadur, the procession was accompanied by the village band Mnarja playing religious hymns. In Gozo, boys and girls wear a simple white linen robe provided by the parish church. In addition, girls wear a white bridal veil rather than the white dress as they used to in the past. The aim of this simpler style of clothing is to help the children concentrate on the gift of Jesus Christ they are receiving.
