Archaeological remains have been discovered at Pjazza Savina, Victoria, during excavation works related to a major infrastructural project being carried out by Victoria local council.

Under the direction of the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, the council has engaged archae-ologist Paolo Spadaro, who over the past few days was busy documenting and preserving the remains.

Mayor Samuel Azzopardi said that although these findings may temporarily interrupt the project, it was imperative that whenever such discoveries were made, works stopped immediately and measures taken to document and protect any discoveries.
