Brussels Airlines has inaugurated flights to Malta on Fridays and Sundays.

“Coupled with the code-sharing agreement Brussels Airlines has with our national carrier Air Malta, the addition of these flights further enhance our current offer to the Belgian market and beyond,” said Markus Klaushofer, CEO at the Malta International Airport.

“While keeping in mind the amount of expats living and working in Brussels, who wish to hop back home for the weekend, the flights also provide further accessibility for visitors to our island.”

The airline flies to some 60 European destinations, as well as long-haul flights to 19 African destinations, and New York and Washington DC in the US.

Free coffee and muffin from Costa’s new outlet

Costa Coffee has opened its sixth coffee shop in Malta, this time in the heart of Valletta at the ground floor entrance of the Embassy shopping Complex.

To commemorate this new store opening, Costa Coffee will be inviting Valletta residents, neighbouring businesses and passers-by to visit the store for a free Costa Coffee fix on July 4 from 7.30am to 9.30am.

“We want to say hello to all our new neighbours so on July 4 we’re going to treat everyone with our promotional flyer in hand to coffee and muffins on us,” said Robert Buttigieg, general manager of Costa Coffee Malta.

This summer Costa Coffee are running a campaign, giving a scratch card with every Costa Ice beverage purchased, that entitles customers to one of 10,000 prizes, varying from Costa Coffee beach balls and beach bags to a one-night’s stay at Radisson Blu Resort and Spa, Golden Sands.

Awards for two Maltese remote gaming firms

Two Maltese owned and based businesses – Bit8 and WH Partners – have won eGR awards for ‘Software Rising Star of the Year’ and ‘Corporate Services Provider of the Year’ respectively.

Bit8 develops artificial intelligence solutions and has already been nominated as ‘Innovator of the Year’ at the IGA this January with CEOAngelo Dalli winning the ‘Digital/IT Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the MSV Life Top Entrepreneur of the Year Award organised by Malta Economic Update.

WH Partners, a Maltese law firm, has also won other recognition. Only this year, Olga Finkel and James Scicluna were ranked among the top 35 gaming and gambling lawyers globally by Chambers & Partners, the leading guide to the legal profession worldwide. WH Partners was appointed an expert by PwC Malta in connection with a report being prepared for the European Commission on iGaming and the role of regulators.

HSBC contact centre on recruitment drive

HSBC UK Contact Centre Malta is collaborating with various local councils to deliver information sessions about employment opportunities at various localities.

The sessions are aimed at Maltese and foreign residents who have a good command of English and IT skills. Information about the Contact Centre, including the role itself and the benefits of joining HSBC, are also highlighted. Selected persons are given a 13-week full-time training course geared to grow their knowledge of HSBC products and services, and to serve as a basis for individual development opportunities at HSBC Contact Centre in Swatar with various prospects of advancement both locally and in the UK.
