Artist Tracey Emin has donated one of her neon works – which can go for five-figure sums – for a raffle to raise money for the Old Vic Theatre.

The artwork, which spells out the words ‘wanting you’ in green and turquoise neon tube lights, could be won in the contest which is being coordinated by auction house Christie’s. Emin hopes thousands of pounds will be raised for the theatre, which is aiming to raise £15 million by the end of next year, through the sale of £10 tickets at christies.com/oldvicraffle from today until July 3.

She said: “I’m a massive fan of the Old Vic and have supported them for years but this time it’s different. By donating Wanting You to be raffled it gives lots more people the opportunity of supporting the Old Vic and also owning my work.”
