When people want to make noise, they come to Spinola Bay. The St Julian’s local council should know better than to issue permits for the public screening of football matches in a densely populated residential area like Spinola Bay.

This neighbourhood has no piazza or large open spaces for public gatherings.

It consists of an often polluted sea inlet, a short stretch of a very busy road, narrow pavements and a narrow quay that was originally used by fishermen to mend their fishing nets.

In short, it is a confinedspace which was not meant forpublic gatherings.

It seems that the commercial sponsors of money-making, public screenings of football matches count more for the local council than the right to peace and quiet of the local residents.

The loud and noisy public screenings of football matches should be directed once and for all away from Spinola Bay!
