• Xewkija celebrates the feast of St John the Baptist today. Bishop Mario Grech leads a concelebrated Mass at 8.45am.The Victory Band of Xagħra and the Duke of Connaught’s Own of Birkirkara will play marches in streets of Xewkija at 11am. Fr Eddie Zammit will lead a concelebrated Mass at 6.15pm, followed by a procession with the saint’s statue at 7.45pm, accompanied by the Precursor Band. Mnarja Band will also participate.

• The feast of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu will be celebrated today. Masses will be said at 5, 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.30am, 5 and at 7pm. Bishop Mario Grech leads a pontifical Mass at 10am, followed by the recital of the supplication and theTe Deum. It will be broadcast on Radio Maria, 102.3 FM, and Radio RTK, 103.0/97.8 FM.

• A blood donation session will be held at Gozo General Hospital today between 8am and 1pm.

• MUSEUM superior Joe Fenech will hold a prayer and catechesis meeting at Our Lady of Pompeii church, Victoria, on Thursday from 10 to 11am. All are invited.

• Nadur’s Mnarja Philharmonic Band will perform its annual June symphonic concert entitled Big Band Adventures at Archpriest Martin Camilleri Square, Nadur, on Tuesday at 9pm. The event is being organised to mark the feast of St Peter and St Paul, patron saints of Nadur. The band will be under the direction of music director Joseph Grech and guest singers Christine Camilleri and Elaine Haber will be performing.

• To mark World Day Against Drugs, OASI is holding a discussion on the topic ‘Decriminalisation, Legalisation or Dependence on Drug Use’ on Thursday at 9am at the Grand Hotel, Għajnsielem. To reserve a place call 2156 3333.

• Victoria Scout Group is holding an open air dinner in Santa Lucija square on July 5 at 8.30pm. Tickets cost €15 for adults and €5 for children aged up to 12.
