• Online shoppers are no longer obliged to pay charges or other costs if they were not properly informed prior to placing an order.

• Pre-ticked boxes in consumer contracts are prohibited.

• The cooling-off period has been extended from seven to 14 days.

• The right of withdrawal is now extended to online auctions, if the purchase is done from a professional seller.

• Consumers can also cancel purchases of digital content, such as music or video downloads, until the actual downloading starts.
