The International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) at University held its 25th graduation ceremony at the Malta Maritime Museum, Vittoriosa.

The ceremony, presided over by Koji Sekimizu, International Maritime Organisation secretary-general and chairman of the IMLI governing board, was attended by distinguished personalities, including Speaker Anġlu Farrugia, President Emeritus Ugo Mifsud Bonnici, Jo Espinoza Ferrey, director, administrative division, IMO, Frédéric Hébert, director of REMPEC, Ambassador Lino Vassallo, permanent representative of Malta to the IMO, Tomoyuki Hashimoto, manager, Maritime Affairs Department of the Nippon Foundation, and Francis Reynolds, QC, Professor Emeritus, University of Oxford.

During the ceremony, 32 students from 25 countries were awarded the degree of Master of Laws (LLM) in International Maritime Law, and five other students were awarded an Advanced Diplo­ma in International Maritime Law.
