BORG. On June 18, at Mater Dei Hospital, TEDDIE, TV producer, sport journalist, better known for water sport, aged 78, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Roselle, his children Raymond and his wife Sandra, Charles and Caroline, Christopher and his wife Clara, grandchildren and great-grandchild, his sisters Mariucca, Helga and in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8am for Mount Carmel parish church in Gżira, where Mass will be said at 8.30am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata ­Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital and the Malta Community Chest Fund, will be greatly appreciated. CONSIGLIO. On June 18, at Mater Dei Hospital, RITA, of Kalkara residing in Żabbar, aged 90, widow of Carmelo, ex-­Secretary of GWU and ex-Ambassador of Russia resident in Malta, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Ursola and her husband Noel, Eleonora and her husband Joe, Constantino and his partner Lourdes, Joan Mary and her husband Raymond, nephews, nieces, her sister Tonina and her husband Ġużi Bugelli, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 7.45am. for Our Lady of Graces parish church, Żabbar, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

FENECH. On June 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, Dr JOSEPH FENECH, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Education, University of Malta, aged 69, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Joan, their two daughters Stephanie and Valerie, his brothers and sisters, and their spouses, his wife’s family, other relatives and friends. The funeral will be held at Lija parish church today at 3.30pm followed by interment at St Andrew’s Cemetery in Żebbuġ. Donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, would be greatly appreciated. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

LOCHTENBERG. On June 14, in Sydney, FIONA née Borda, at the age of 55, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, after a long battle against cancer. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Mark, her son and daughter Jan and Jessica, her daughter Faye, husband Johno Purdon and grandson Jasper, her mother Gladys and her husband Joe Debono, her father Frank and his wife Pauline, her sisters Sabrina, M­ichaela, Bettina and her husband Jeremy Kirk, her ­brothers Mark and Paul, her ­in-laws Margaret and Ben, her aunts ­Gloria and her husband Frank Mizzi and Monique and her husband Stephen James, her brothers and sisters-in-law Jan and Carrie, Anna and Nick Williams, Michael and Jennifer, Maggie and Mark Burgess, ­Benedict and Jeannie, Lucy and Det Papenfuss, her nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral takes place at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Mosman, Sydney at 4pm ­tomorrow. A memorial Mass in Malta will be announced later and in ­accordance with her wishes her ashes will be ­scattered at sea between Malta and Sicily.

SULTANA – JOHN B, former Director of Lib­raries, passed peacefully away on June 16, at St Vincent de Paule Residence at the age of 77. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Lina, his sons Stefan and his wife Nathalie, Simon and his wife Anabel, Ian and his wife Michelle, his ­grandchildren Nicole, Andrew, Kurt, Matthias and Pablo, his sister Maria and her husband Albert, Frances, widow of his brother Achille, his sister-in-law Rita, several nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paule Residence tomorrow at 7.45am for St Pius X parish church, Santa Luċija, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
