The prize-winning Maltese-Australian author Lou Drofenik will deliver a talk in English about her new novel, Bushfire Summer, tonight at 6pm in the Faculty of Arts Library, Old Humanities Building at the University of Malta.

Entrance is free and everyone is welcome to attend. This event is being organised by the Department of Maltese in the Faculty of Arts.

Dr Drofenik’s new novel, based on personal experience during the 2009 Black Saturday bush fires, is a story of courage, loss and the realisation that miracles can and do happen.

Bushfire Summer sweeps the reader into a summer etched in the Australian psyche. This novel is a celebration of people in rural communities, their generosity of spirit and their undeniable acts of heroism when disaster strikes.
