Last year, the Church in Gozo collected €128,362 for charity, according to a published diocese bulletin. This works out at an average of €8,557 from each of the island’s 15 parishes.

Most of the funds were passed on to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, and Arka Foundation, which runs a home for disabled people in Gozo. Other entities like Puttinu Cares and the Oħloq Tbissima marathon also benefited from the collections.

The figure does not include other spontaneous and planned collections for Gozitan missionaries and for the diocese’s Caritas office, which does charitable work among immigrants and refugees in Gozo and families in dire financial and social conditions.
