The National Blood Transfusion Service will tomorrow be celebrating World Blood Donors Day with a host of activities in St Luke’s Square, Guardamangia, from 9am to 3pm. The aim is to raise the society’s appreciation – particularly from those who have received blood – towards blood donors.

Taking part are Ġorġ and Pawlu, Firelight, Gianluca Bezzina, Kurt Calleja, Gaia Cauchi, La Voix Academy, various dancers from different dancing schools and artists. President Marie Loiuse Coleiro Preca and other distinct personalities will also be attending.

Members of the Red Cross, St John’s Ambulance Brigade, Transplant Support Group, the Midwives Association and the Civil Protection Department will be present. iThe Dog Search and Rescue Team will also give performances.

This invite is open to patients who have received blood. They are encouraged to bring with them a Thank You Card and present it to those donating blood on the day, as an appreciation for having their life saved. These cards will later be displayed at the Blood Don-ation Centre.

Those attending may take the opportunity to receiveinformation from the Health Information Unit or check their Blood Glucose Level and monitor their Blood Pressure from the Primary Health Services staff.
