The Malta Union of Teachers has registered a trade dispute  with the government over a number of supply LSAs and teachers who are entitled to an indefinite contract.

The union said it had repeatedly communicated with the Education authorities concerning members in state schools who have been eligible for an indefinite status for over two years but who have, for purely bureaucratic reasons, remained pending.

The union said it had given the authorities an ultimatum to  process all pending cases by June 10, but the process was still pending.

The union said it was reserving the right to issue industrial directives.
