Last weekend, Pjazza Tignè was transformed into a top-of-the-league basketball court as almost 50 players of varying abilities, including national team members and regular street players, battled it out at the first ever Red Bull King of the Rock qualifier held in Malta.
The candidates who have advanced to the final include Nikola Vasovic, Denislav Vladimirov, David Bugeja, Alberto Lorenzo, Miguel Falzon, Stefano Tangianu, Anton Axiaq and Carles Teixido.
Basketball action will now shift to Great Siege Square in Valletta for the final competition on Saturday.
The Red Bull King of the Rock final will determine who will represent Malta at the World Finals, to be held in Taiwan in September.
