BONAVIA – VIOLET, beloved wife of the late Paul, passed on to eternal life on June 2. She was deeply loved and will be most sadly missed by her son and daughters, Alice, Marisa, Cecilia and their spouses, her grand-children and great-grandchildren as well as relatives and friends. The funeral Mass is being held at Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, today at 9am. The family would like to thank the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus and staff at Pax et Bonum Home, Mosta, for the dedicated and loving care given to their mother.
GATT. On June 2, GIOVANNA, of Tarxien, aged 73, (ex-owner of TC Petrol Station, Tarxien), passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Philip, her daughter Rita and her husband Mario Azzopardi, her nephew Charlton, her niece Janelle and her partner Carmel Gauci and their son Kayne Lee, in-laws, her cousins residing in America, Australia and Canada, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for the Annunciation parish church, Tarxien, where a Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. GERADA. On June 2, MARIA ANTONIA (Nina), aged 98, widow of Dr Alfons Gerada, passed away peacefully at Casa Antonia, Balzan. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Anton, Louise, Pierre and Joe and their respective spouses, her beloved grand-children Katja, Martha, Julian, Cristian, Martina, Andrea, Petra, Hannah and Cristina, their respective spouses and her great-grandchildren Emanuele and Anna, her sisters Amelia Libreri and Maria Galea, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Antonia today at 2.15pm for St Gregory church, Żejtun where Mass will be said at 3pm followed by interment in the family grave at St Gregory Cemetery. Talk on Taoism
A talk on Taoism opens the annual general conference of the Malta China Friendship Society, which will be held tomorrow at 6.30pm at the Chinese Cultural Centre, Melita Street, Valletta.
The speaker will be Alan Saliba Gauci, a student of the Confucius Institute.
