GERADA. On June 2, MARIA ANTONIA (Nina),aged 98, widow of Dr Alfons Gerada, passed away peacefully at Casa Antonia, Balzan. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Anton, Louise, Pierre and Joe and their res-pective spouses, her beloved grandchildren Katja, Martha, Julian, Cristian, Martina, Andrea, Petra, Hannah and Cristina, their respective spouses and her great-grandchildren Emanuele and Anna, her sisters Amelia Libreri and Maria Galea, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Antonia tomorrow at 2.15pm for St Gregory church, Żejtun where Mass will be said at 3pm followed by interment in the family grave at St Gregory Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank all the staff at Casa Antonia and also Ruth Mifsud, her special carer.
VASSALLO. On June 1, PAUL, aged 84, passed away peacefully, at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Doris, his children Michael and his wife Maxine, Anna and her husband Joseph Attard, Joseph and his wife Josianne, his grandchildren, Nicholas, Thomas, Oliver, Evie, Sophie, Therese and Timothy, his sister Catherine Scerri, in-laws Maria Vassallo and Rose Sammut, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 7.30am for St Joseph parish church, Msida where a Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8am. followed by interment at Ħniena Divina Cemetery, St Paul’s Bay. No flowers by request but donations to Radju Maria will begreatly appreciated. Dear Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Talk on David Trump
Heritage Malta and the National Museum of Archaeology are organising the talk 1954-2014 – 60 years of Archaeology in Malta – The Personal Experiences of David H. Trump. Dr Trump first visited Malta in 1954 to assist John Evans with excavations at Ġgantija. From 1958 to 1963, apart from working at the museum, he excavated on a number of sites, Skorba being the most rewarding. The talk will take place tomorrow at 6.30pm at the National Museum of Archaeology, Valletta.
