Turkish Airlines has celebrated its first year of operations to Malta by handing out roses to passengers.
Founded in 1933 with five planes, Turkish Airlines has grown into one of the world’s leading airlines with a fleet of 250 aircraft, serving both passenger and cargo operations.
Malta became the airline’s 100 country in May 2013.
“We are pleased to celebrate one year of operations in Malta. With a flight time of two hours and a baggage allowance in economy class of 30kgs, Turkish Airlines is proving to be very popular in the Maltese market,” said general manager Muhammed Soner Aydin.
“Turkish Airlines will be extending the baggage allowance by a further 10kgs during the month of June on the occasion of the Istanbul Shopping Fest,” he added.
A member of the Star Alliance, Turkish Airlines currently operates scheduled flights to 253 destinations in 105 countries: 208 international and 45 domestic.
Turkish Airlines operates to Malta five times a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday). Flights depart from Malta at 3.15pm and arrive in Istanbul at 6.35pm (all times local).
