• The feast of St Anthony of Padua will be celebrated today by the Franciscan Fathers at St Anthony’s church in Għajnsielem. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead a Pontifical Mass at 8.30am, followed by the blessing and distribution of bread. The celebration will be transmitted live on Radju Lauretana (89.3 FM) and on www.radjulauretana.com. The procession will leave the church at 7.30pm, accompanied by the St Joseph Band of Għajnsielem. The Ite Ad Joseph Band of Qala and the Mnarja Band of Nadur will also take part. The liturgical celebration will end with benediction with the Blessed Sacrament.
On the liturgical feast of St Anthony, Fr Raymond Camilleri OFM will lead a concelebrated Mass at St Anthony’s church on June 13 at 7pm, together with a number of priests named Anthony.
• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the recital of the rosary and Eucharistic benediction.
• The second edition of Rock-astra, a celebration of rock music featuring La Stella Philharmonic Band of Victoria and leading artists under the musical direction of Sigmund Mifsud, will be held on Friday at 9pm at the band club in Republic Street, Victoria.
• The seventh edition of the Leone Goes Pop concert will be held on Saturday at 9pm in Independence Square (It-Tokk), Victoria. The concert will feature the Leone Band performing pop, rock and swing music, ranging from the most recent hits to some of the immortal classics.
• Members of Il-Fergħa Ewkaristika (Għawdex) will meet at Ta’ Pinu on Saturday at 3pm to celebrate Mass and for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 4pm. All are welcome.
