Swimming is a fun activity that helps you burn lots of calories and maintain an ideal weight. It is also easy on the joints, builds muscular strength and endurance, and improves cardiovascular fitness. Moreover, it is a sport that you can continue practising into old age.

Learning to swim at a young age is fundamental for children. The Sliema Aquatic Sports Club Nursery provides all the tools for children to learn and master swimming. The teams vary from stroke developer groups to highly competitive swimming groups.

Swimming is also a prerequisite to waterpolo, which is by far the nation’s most successful team sport. Sliema ASC is a regular feeder to the waterpolo national team which excelled in several tournaments this year, winning a gold medal at the EU Eight Nations Tournament and silver in the Commonwealth Games.

As the most successful club on the island, Sliema ASC takes pride in its blend of fully qualified local and foreign coaches and looks forward to regular intakes of children aged between four and 14. Training sessions are available both mornings and afternoons.

You can register your child for the swimming or waterpolo summer nursery at the club premises, Sliema Pitch, opposite the Preluna Hotel, Għar id-Dud on any the following three dates: Saturday from 10am to 12pm, June 14 from 10am to noon and June 21 from 10am to noon.
