As from October this year, the Malta Business School will be launching three full-time management diplomas in the areas of business, travel and tourism, and health and social care from a UK accrediting body. The duration of these MQF level five diplomas would be six months for 60 credits, or one academic year for 120 credits, if students opt for the extended version. In the latter case, successful students would have the option of applying for a one-year top-up degree from some UK universities.

Christine Caruana, programmes manager, said her team has been working for the last two years towards this goal, which will be achieved in the next few months.

“The setting up and formalising of all the quality policies and procedures that a school requires to be accepted on an international level, as well as the marketing effort involved to attract students from a number of countries has been an exciting, exhausting, learning experience for me and my tireless team. And this roller-coaster journey will continue after October, since the learning experience will be a continuous and ongoing process.”

The first intakes for these diploma courses are expected to hail from at least three continents, with applications already received from Europe, Asia and Africa.

“This is an exciting time for us, seeing the results of our internationalisation efforts, and helping to provide the Maltese economy with locally-grown international business. Putting Malta on the international map of education excellence is something we should be proud of,” Lorenzo Mulè Stagno, managing director, added.
