Over the past 50 years, Maria Assumpta Girls’ Secondary School, Hamrun, has regularly organised a musical to coincide with its annual prize day. During the rehearsals and stage preparations, students and staff came together as formal school relationships were relaxed in a collective effort to bring off the much-loved school activity. The latest such musical, which was held recently, will be the school’s last as it has been decided to consign this tradition to history. The curtain has gone down, the spectacle is done and this time the show is truly over.
