The PwC’s Kids@PwC summer programme is an eight-week fun-filled course introducing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. By combining robots, game creation and computer building, Kids@PwC has the perfect recipe for a fun and educational summer.

The Kids@PwC programme, which will continue beyond the summer course, includes computer programming, which is a new type of literacy. Just as writing helps you to organise the way you think and express your ideas, the same is true for coding.

As young children learn to code, they learn how to create and express themselves through the computer. By using mathematics and language in a meaningful and motivating context, Kids@PwC aims to support the development of early childhood numeracy and literacy.

In the process, children develop design and problem-solving skills that are the key to building a solid foundation for academic success at a later stage in life.

Children following the programme will get hands-on experience related to programming using Scratch and linking their work to the physical world of robotics (Lego WeDo for five years+ and Lego Mindstorm EV3 for 10 years+).

To further open up the world of technology, children will be shown how to build and control their own computer using the fantastic little Raspberry PI devices.

PwC believes this programme has a number of firsts, namely the integration of Raspberry PI, Scratch, Minecraft and both types of Lego Robots into a fantastic and fun learning experience for children.

PwC will be holding a two-hour free information session for parents including course content, scheduling options and Lego demo. This session will be held on Tuesday, June 10 at 6pm. To book for this session and learn about the early bird discount, call on 2010 3597 or e-mail pwcacademy@mt.pwc.com.
