Malta’s performance in the e-government 2013 European Commission benchmarking exercise was outstanding with the country leading on all top-level indicators across the combined services measured.
The exercise measures the delivery and performance of e-Government services in 33 countries (the 28 European Union member states together with Iceland, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland and Turkey).
It was prepared by Capgemini, IDC, Sogeti, IS-practice and Indigov, RAND Europe and the Danish Technological Institute for the European Commission DG for Communications Networks, Content and Technology.
The study measured user centricity, transparency, cross border mobility and key enablers.
Competitiveness Parliamentary Secretary Jose Herrera said the results confirmed the government’s commitment towards the attainment of Digital Malta: National Digital Strategy 2014 – 2020 when Malta would prosper as a digitally-enabled nation in all sectors of society.
