Twice-daily flights to the Seychelles will be launched this autumn as Emirates steps up its operations to the winter sun hotspot.

An extra two flights from the airline’s base in Dubai brings its total scheduled service to 14 per week from October 28.

“Emirates’s decision to commit two additional scheduled flights a week is a clear indication of customer demand, both for our award-winning product and the wealth of attractions that this popular destination has to offer,” said Orhan Abbas, one of the airline’s senior vice presidents.

Emirates operates daily scheduled flights from Malta to Dubai on a Boeing 777.

On Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays it flies via Larnaka, Cyprus, while on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays there are direct flights from Dubai to Malta and return flights via Tripoli. From August 1, Malta-Dubai flights will increase to twice daily: one via Larnaka and the second via Tripoli.
