Xagħra Scout Group last Sunday commemorated the sixth anniversary since its restablishment. The village’s first scout group was set up in 1934 but was stopped during World War II. It was revived some years later but then stopped again.

The event was marked by a parade from the youth centre to the parish church for a concelebrated Mass led by archpriest Mgr Carmelo Refalo.

Afterwards, the scouts marched to their headquarters in Ta’ Hamet Street, which is being refurbished.

Chief commissioner Leslie Bonnici, district commissioner Lorrie Saliba and group scout leader Loraine Borg attended the event.
