Food brand Stork recently organised a cupcake contest to mark World Baking Day.

A shortlist of participants from the various entries received through the Kċina Facebook Group, were invited to a bake-off at the Institute of Tourism Studies, St Julian’s.

The recipes were judged by Manuel Xuereb, Aaron Degabriele and Johanna Ransley.

The first prize went to Veronique Gaglione for her burger cupcakes and the second prize to Christiane Ellul for her vanilla cupcakes with Easter decorations.

Recipes were judged on originality, design, combined flavour, texture of cupcake, aftertaste and overall appearance.
