After exams, will you have a decent break or go straight to work? Do you wish you could have a longer break?

I go straight to work and I do not really want a longer break as I get post-exam blues. Jonathan Harrington, 21, BA English (Hons).

I work throughout the year, but after the excitement of the exams I immediately set myself a new objective as I go from one goal to another. Kathleen Vella, 45, BA English (Hons).

It usually depends on when I finish exams. This year I finish on June 13 so I will start work in July. Sometimes I do go straight to work but most of my friends would have started placements or work too, so it’s not that bad. Emma Schembri, 20, B.Psychology.

Do you have a holiday planned this summer? How important is it to get out of the country once in a while?

Not yet, but I hope to. It’s not particularly important but when it does happen it is definitive. Johnathan Harrington

No, not yet but plan to. Going on holiday isn’t essential but it is a bonus for those who can afford it both financially or in terms of time and responsibilities. Kathleen Vella

Yes, I’m going to Rome and I’m organising a student exchange in the Netherlands. I think going abroad is important for many reasons: for the experience; you learn about different cultures first-hand, discover great opportunities and make contacts. Most importantly, you look upon the world from a new perspective. Emma Schembri

Do you find your summer job more or less stressful than University life?

They’re different sides of the same coin. They’re both stressful, fun, exciting and annoying all at once. Jonathan Harrington

I consider them different experiences. I wouldn’t call them stressful but they offer different challenges that I face head on. Kathleen Vella

I used to work as a waitress, which was a lot less stressful than my final year. Emma Schembri
