Students following the Restoration and Conservation programme at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology’s Institute of Building and Construction Engineering have been entrusted with the restoration of street-level entrance structures to the Tal-Mintna Catacombs in Mqabba.

The students have presented a report documenting the deterioration the catacombs and suggesting appropriate methods of cleaning, rebuilding and conserving the original masonry.

The students will carry out the project in part-fulfilment of the Mcast diploma course in Masonry Heritage Skills.
