Delicata will be hosting a one-night wine fair on May 21 as part of the ‘Take Me to the Marina’ fun May week being organised at the Marina Hotel Corinthia Beach Resort in St Julian’s.
Three Delicata wine stands will be set up, offering a selection of 15 assorted DOK Malta, DOK Gozo and IGT Maltese Islands wines. Wine enthusiasts can purchase a glass (which is then theirs to keep) for a nominal fee, which includes a glass of wine of their choice. Further top-ups can then be purchased. Glass-holders will also be entitled to buy Delicata wines at a reduced price in a number of promotions that will be going on throughout the hotel at the various restaurants.
The stalls will be manned by Delicata representatives ready to answer any questions wine lovers might have.
The wines that will be available to taste include the newly packaged Classic Collection wines, Carissimi Cabernet Sauvignon, Marenzio Merlot, Landini Vermentino and Donato Chardonnay; Malta’s two indigenous semi-sparkling wines Ġellewża Rosé Frizzato and Girgentina Frizzato; the award-winning Grand Vin de Hauteville Moscato dessert wine, Grand Vin de Hauteville Viognier and Grand Vin de Hauteville Shiraz Cabernet and Delicata’s flagship medal-winning Gran Cavalier Sauvignon Blanc and Gran Cavalier Syrah.
There will also be the Cabernet Franc and the Medina Grenache Rosé from the increasingly popular wine brand Medina. The latter wine has just picked up a bronze medal in Bordeaux at the 2014 Challenge International du Vin, plus two other delicious rosé wines, Victoria Heights Shiraz Rosé from Gozo and Pjazza Regina Rosé.
Other activities being organised during the fun week between May 19 and 25, include an art exhibition, cake decorating, floral design workshops, a stand-up comedy night, various cooking demonstrations, children’s animation and shows, live entertainment every night including many local well-known artistes and a choice of buffet nights with a variety of cuisines including Italian, Maltese, Middle Eastern, Asian and Spanish.
