Lufthansa charges for seats

German airline Lufthansa has started charging for passengers wishing to reserve seats in certain long-haul booking classes.

Early reservations in class W, S, T, L and K will cost €25 per seat, matching the long-haul service to the airline’s domestic and European routes, which have charged €10 to reserve seats since November.

Seats in other classes remain free to reserve early, as do seats in the upcoming Premium Economy Class, Business and First Class.

Guests who do not book early may still choose their preferred available seat when checking in up to 23 hours before flying.

Gorilla hunt... with cameras

Much sought after for his Masai Mara photographic safaris, wildlife photographer David Lloyd has announced his first photographic trips out of Kenya: visiting gorillas in Rwanda and Uganda in November.

The gorilla trips are for him fulfilling a dream: “Ever since I first visited in 2008 I knew I wanted to go back and take people in a cost-effective way. That’s why I’ve chosen the green season. The resulting colours and vibrancy will make photography so much more rewarding.”

Trips start from €1,875 and include photographic mentoring and image processing tuition. Go to http://davidlloyd.net/tours/pure-gorilla for more information. (PA)
