• A morning procession with the statue of St George will be held in Victoria today at 10am to mark the 175th anniversary of the titular statue sculpted in 1839 by Pietru Pawl Azzopardi.

• A pre-Mother’s Day market is being held today from 8am onwards in St Peter and St Paul Square, Nadur, by the local council.

• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the recital of the rosary and Eucharistic benediction.

• The 51st Congress of the Holy Name Society will conclude today at 5pm in St Paul’s Shipwreck parish centre, Munxar. Participants will gather near the convent of the Sisters of Charity in St Domenica Street and proceed to the centre.

• The World Day of Prayer by Catholic Women will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9am at the Catholic Action headquarters, Sir Arturo Mercieca Street, Victoria. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will say Mass and deliver a message on this year’s theme, Truth in Love (Inwettqu s-Sewwa fl-Imħabba). The activity will continue with a discussion based on a dramatised representation of the Old Testament story of Susanna from the Book of Daniel. All women are invited to attend.

• An animated Mass will be celebrated by Fr Marcello Ghirlando of the Friar Minors at Għajnsielem, on Tuesday at 7pm at St Anthony’s church in preparation of the feast of St Anthony in June. Prior to Mass, prayers will start at 6.30pm.

• Gaulitana: A Festival of Music enters its final week with four events. Tomorrow at 8pm the last Youth and Music concert with participants from the Malta International Music Festival will be held at the Gozo Ministry’s exhibition hall, St Francis Square, Victoria. On Wednesday at 8pm the same venue will host the Italian Synapsis Trio (Giorgia Teodoro, soprano, Mariagaia Di Tommaso, clarinet and Andrea Bosa, pianoforte) who will perform a concert of contemporary Italian chamber works, some of which are being premiered at the concert. The festival will move to Xagħra Basilica on Thursday at 8pm for an organ recital by American musician Alexander Frey. The festival comes to an end on Saturday at 8.30pm with a concert conducted by Mro Colin Attard at Nadur Basilica. At the event, Auxiliary Bishop Charles Scicluna will deliver an address. A selection of books on John Paul II from the private collection of Stephen Attard will also be exhibited.

• The Lay Fraternity of Charles de Foucauld (Gozo) will hold its May prayer meeting on Thursday at 7.15pm at Good Shepherd pastoral centre, Taċ-Ċawla, Victoria. Lay Catholics are invited. For more information call 2155 3610, 7996 8020 or e-mail faf@go.net.mt.

• The Blessed Sacrament is exposed for adoration in St Michael chapel at Sacred Heart of Jesus parish church, Fontana, all year round from Monday to Friday between 7am and 7pm.

• Bethel Charismatic Group will hold a prayer meeting on Saturday at 7pm at MAS headquarters, Victoria.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at St Francis church, Victoria, on Saturday at 8.30pm, followed by Mass at midnight.

• The Don Bosco Summer Club for children, aged between four and 12, will be held from July 4 to September 1. Applications may be obtained from the Don Bosco Oratory or downloaded from website donboscogozo.org this month.

• La Stella Philharmonic Society will hold a Mother’s Day theatre show of music, song, dance, drama and comedy on Saturday at 8pm at Astra Theatre, Victoria. Admission for mothers accompanied by their families is free. For booking information call 2155 0985.

• A blood donation session will be held at the Gozo General Hospital, Outpatients Department, today between 8am and 1pm.

• The feast of Our Lady of Pompeii will be celebrated at the church of Our Lady of Pompeii, Victoria, on Thursday. The supplication will be said by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech at noon, followed by the blessing of children at 4.15pm. The church’s rector Mgr Joseph Cauchi will lead a concelebrated Mass at 5.30pm.

• A pilgrimage to St Ġorġ Preca’s grave at the MUSEUM chapel, Blata l-Bajda, will be held on Thursday, leaving Mġarr Harbour at 4.30pm. Tickets are available from MUSEUM members and parish centres.
