Olivia and Charles, both Parisians and espadrille lovers since childhood, always travelled and spent their sunny days in espadrilles. This led to a discussion about creating a shop dedicated to espadrilles in the best place in Europe to wear them all year round: Malta.

Olivia was a recruitment consultant in fashion and Charles was an account manager in advertising. They left everything behind and the concept store was born.

The Marquis de Vissac boutique is located at 169, St Lucia Street, Valletta. The boutique is named after a French knight who fought alongside Grandmaster La Valette and died during the Great Siege of 1565. Olivia and Charles chose this character as a brotherly symbol between France and Malta. This choice is also a tribute to Olivia’s mother’s surname Vissac and Charles’s Maltese Marquese ancestors.

Olivia and Charles import to Malta two authentic brands of espadrilles. Bayona is the oldest French espadrilles brand, handmade since the 18th century. Aedo is a Spanish family brand that has been producing handmade wedge-heeled espadrilles since the 1980s.

The Marquis de Vissac boutique is the first concept store for handmade, eco-friendly espadrilles made from natural and recyclable fabrics. For more information visit www.marquisdevissac.com or contact the Marquis de Vissac boutique on 2769 2779, 7775 5541 and info@marquisdevissac.com.
