Inspire's Foundation for Inclusion is this weekend holding its annual fun-filled charity fund raiser - It’s a Knockout, on the theme “We’re all Going on a Summer Holiday”.
“Once again, we be collaborating with UK Outdoor Event Specialists Graham Fisher’s International It’s a knockout, who organise games and challenges based on the famous BBC television programme,” Christine Agius Tellus, Inspire’s fund raising manager said.
“The series was so successful it became a national obsession with over 18 million viewers ever week and ran for a staggering 19 years,” she added.
Between Friday and Sunday a large inflatable obstacle course will be set up at The Malta Shipyard in Marsa, where companies, clubs and organisations would be able meet in a relaxed, fun and stress-free environment outside the office.
The teams are set tasks to complete by negotiating the inflatables in a race against time. The games are deceptively simple but hard to complete and there are both physical and mental challenges requiring individual skills and teamwork.
Participants can be a group of colleagues, friends or family and will form teams of between eight to 10 people over 18, so long as they are reasonably fit. The teams play the same number of games and the day is followed by a closing awards’ ceremony. A good number of companies have already confirmed their participation
Participants will be helping Inspire, which helps over 1000 children and adults with learning and physical disabilities. It focuses on their full potential, irrespective of their ability, through a range of educational, therapeutic and recreational services and programmes. Teams are encouraged to wear their company or organisation’s t-shirt.
Participation donations start from €675 per team or €50 per individual. Participants are encouraged to fund raise further so that Inspire can reach out to more children andindividuals with disabilities.
